GILBOA — The Gilboa United Methodist Church, 102 Franklin St., Gilboa, will host a free community supper from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The Chapel Belles Boutique and Gift Shop will be open during the supper.
ARLINGTON — Good Hope Lutheran Church, 300 S. Main St., Arlington, will celebrate the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism at the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday.
The following individuals will be confirmed by the Rev. Steven Ramsey: Claire Bateson, Benjamin Flick, Alyssa Jordan, Chayton Newman, Benjamin Slough, Malcolm Williams and Makena Zehender.
Worship services will also be held at 5 p.m. Saturday and 7:45 a.m. Sunday. Sunday School classes for all ages will be held at 9:50 a.m.
Saturday will also be a work day for anyone wishing to help with the list of “fix it projects.” Also on Saturday, the Cub Scout pack will hold a car wash in the church parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
HOYTVILLE — Hoytville Youth and Community Outreach will hold a love and praise concert at 2 p.m. May 4 at the Hoytville United Methodist Church.
Youths from McComb Local School, Liberty-Benton School, Van Buren High School and Arcadia High School will perform, as will children who attend Hoytville Youth and Community Outreach and other area churches.
Edd Van Horn will serve as master of ceremonies. A freewill offering will be collected for Hoytville Youth and Community Outreach, which provides after-school homework help, computer use for those who need it and weeknight activities. The director is Krystal Mull.
Dietsch’s ice cream will be served following the concert, which is open to the public.
Harvest Time International Ministries
A Spanish taco dinner sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today by Harvest Time International Ministries, 237 George St.
Carry-out dinners will be available in the church’s Friar House annex.

Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2300 Northridge Road, will hold confirmation services for its eighth grade students Sunday. A public examination will be held at 9:15 a.m., followed by the confirmation service at 10:30 a.m.
An Easter service in the Japanese language, led by the Rev. Glen Hieb of Strongsville, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Registration is at 4 p.m. Tanya Schmidt, a violin student at Ohio Northern University, will provide special music. There will be activities for children and a meal will follow.
Mount Blanchard UM
MOUNT BLANCHARD — Mount Blanchard United Methodist Church will hold a contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with music by the praise band, Broken Ground.
OTTAWA — New Creation Church, 8127 E. Main St., Ottawa, will host a dinner theater from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Music, drama, singing, monologues and poetry will be presented during “Open Mic with the Gospel of John.” A catered meal will be served.

Our Lady of Consolation
CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey will host a special Mass at 7 p.m. May 2 in honor on St. Peregrine, patron saint of those affected by cancer.
This Mass is for cancer victims, survivors, their loved ones and their caregivers. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be offered at the conclusion of the Mass. Prayers of healing will also be offered.
Separately, the shrine’s volunteer bakery, under the direction of the Rev. Paul Faroh, will hold a pre-Mother’s Day bake sale May 3-4.
The sale, which will feature big soft pretzels, will be held in the Our Lady of Consolation information booth across from the basilica. Hours will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 3 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 4.
Other items for the sale will be Faroh’s candy, pizzas, several kinds of bread and coffee cakes, an assortment of pies, noodles and a variety of cookies.
All proceeds will benefit the Our Lady of Consolation proposed elevator project.

PANDORA — The Pandora United Methodist Church, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora, will host a free community meal from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in its fellowship hall.
This month’s meal is provided by the Wednesday Witnesses Small Group. The menu will be scalloped potatoes, ham, green beans, applesauce, roll, dessert and beverage.
St. Marks UM
A Souper Auction will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 4 at the Dock at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 800 S. Main St.
A soup cook-off and silent auction will be held. There will be two winners in the soup contest; judges’ pick and people’s choice.
Some of the prizes in the silent auction include a Wyndham timeshare vacation, Indians and Browns ticket packages, artwork by local artists, a Lake Erie fishing charter and a car makeover.
All proceeds will help fund youth and adult mission trips.
FOSTORIA — St. Wendelin Catholic Church will host an “Ignite Your Faith With the Divine Mercy” and “Not For Sale” event at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Parish Life Center, 313 N. Wood St., Fostoria.
Sponsored by the Fostoria Knights of Columbus, special guest speaker and Sisters in Shelter advocate Dave Shine will talk about human trafficking which has been identified as the fastest growing criminal industry in the world, second only to drug trafficking as the most profitable illegal industry in the world. Toledo ranks fourth in the nation for youth-sex trade and is first per capita for arrests and rescues of children.
Sisters in Shelter, an outreach of the Sisters of St. Francis in Tiffin, provide a safe home for victims of human trafficking.
At 7 p.m., candlelight adoration will celebrate the divine mercy in song with Rising Dawn.
