A run and walk to benefit the International Rett Syndrome Foundation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Park.
Rett syndrome is a disorder of the nervous system. The run/walk will support research and funding to find a cure for Rett syndrome.
The event will include a 5K run, a one-mile fun run and a one-mile walk along the Findlay Heritage Trail and around the park. Registration will be held at the Waterfalls Pavilion.
Packets for the 5K run can be picked up between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m. Packets for the fun run/walk can be picked up between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. with the run/walk starting at 10 a.m.
The entry fee is $20 for adults and $15 for high school students and younger. Participants can purchase a T-shirt for $10 while supplies last.
Awards will be provided for the top individuals in each age group as well as the overall male and female runners.
