Children’s Museum plans soap box car race in June

The Children’s Museum of Findlay will sponsor a soap box car race in the parking lot of the Findlay Village Mall at 10 a.m. June 28.
The race is open to everyone from kindergarten-age on up. Racers will compete by age group, with group one for children in grades kindergarten through five; group two for grades six to 10; and group three for grade 11 and up.
Participants of open (non-kit) cars will be eligible to race for trophies. Kit cars, if entered, will be raced for exhibition only. Champions will be determined for each age group. Along with the championships, awards will be given on categories such as best braking and steering system and best presentation as a team.
In addition to single drivers, sponsored race teams are encouraged.
A variety of sponsorships opportunities are available, such as ramp sponsorship, lane sponsorship and general sponsorship.
There will be children’s activities, kit car displays and food vendors.
Registration forms are available on the museum’s website at www.cmfindlay.com/soapbox, or by emailing Erin Poling at epoling@cmfindlay.com or Nikki Bonomo at nbonomo@cmfindlay.com. The registration fee is $35 for those registered by June 15. An early bird fee of $25 is available if registered by June 1.
For more information on sponsorships, contact Poling or Bonomo.
