A team of Heritage Christian School students won the Bowling Green State University Brain Game championship May 1.
The results were not made public until the competition aired on WBGU-TV on Thursday.
The Brain Game hosted 32 area schools this year. During the season, the Heritage team bested teams from Van Wert, Anthony Wayne, Put-in-Bay and Toledo Christian schools. It won the championship game against St. Francis 335-300.
Starters were seniors Matthew Beal, Winfield Oestreich and Josiah Long and sophomore Jordan Beal. Juniors Lewis Larsen and Sarah Wright and sophomore Daniel Trantham completed the team. Each team member was awarded a $1000 scholarship to Bowling Green State University.
