The Hancock Leadership program is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 class.
The program, sponsored by the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce and the Hancock Leadership Alumni Association, is a nine-month seminar designed to strengthen leadership skills, broaden knowledge of the community and motivate participants to become involved in addressing community issues.
Since its beginning, more than 750 area leaders have graduated from Hancock Leadership, representing over 200 area businesses and/or service organizations.
Throughout the year, class members engage with community leaders that support the agricultural, public safety, health and human services and educational systems while receiving an overview of key issues impacting the community.
Upon graduation, the goal is for each participant to be armed with the knowledge and background to make a difference in the community, and to have the skills and relationships in place to serve in any capacity they choose.
The program is launched with a mandatory team-building retreat on a Saturday in late August. This will be followed by one full-day session per month, September through May. Sessions are usually held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays at locations throughout the county. Class members are also required to take part in a service project that requires participation outside of regular class time.
Tuition is $795. Arrangements for payment can be made with a participant’s employer and/or sponsoring organization. A limited number of scholarships are available.
