Hansen Lu, 2, of Findlay, plays with a bridge made with K’Nex toys in the Gilbane section at the new Children’s Museum of Findlay at the Findlay Village Mall. The museum opened Friday at the mall, its temporary location until a permanent museum can be opened downtown. A capital campaign will be launched in the near future to finance the new building. The mall site is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $6.50 for those 16 and older and $4.50 for children. The museum features 12 exhibits, each featuring an aspect of the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) curriculum. The museum is the brainchild of Jim and Nikki Bonomo, who moved to Findlay in 2011 and wanted a children’s museum here similar to those they’ve visited in other cities. A board of directors was established in 2013 and Erin Poling was named executive director in May. For more information, visit www.cmfindlay.com or call 567-250-9616.
