ARLINGTON — Arlington United Methodist Church will host vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday next week.
The theme is “Weird Animals: Where Jesus’ Love is One of a Kind.”
All children who attend will receive a free T-shirt, music CD and photo.

Beech Grove Wesleyan
CAREY — One Voice will present a concert at Beech Grove Wesleyan Church, 16054 County Highway 4, Carey, at 7 p.m. today.

Catholic Order of Foresters
FOSTORIA — The Catholic Order of Foresters will host an auction to benefit the Fostoria Sharing Kitchen at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Wendelin Parish Life Center.
Donations for the auction and monetary donations are being accepted. For more information, contact Janet Kirian-McCarthy at 808 N. Vine St., Fostoria. All monetary donations will be matched by the Foresters to help the Sharing Kitchen make needed updates to its facilities. Checks should be made payable to the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Howard UM
“Blast Off” will be the theme of a vacation Bible school which will be held jointly by Howard United Methodist Church and Unity Christian Church.
Sessions will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 24-26 at Howard United Methodist Church, 220 Cherry St.
A carry-in supper will be held at 6 p.m. July 26 and will include a block party. The public is invited to send their children to vacation Bible school and to attend the block party.

Hoytville UM
HOYTVILLE — The Hoytville United Methodist Church will host its annual ice cream social at 5 p.m. July 26.
Church members make the ice cream from scratch, using a recipe that has been passed down through generations.
Also featured will be noodles made by the church women, chicken, barbecued beef and hot dog sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, pie, cake and beverages.
Carry-out will be available.

The Lighthouse
A concert will be held at 6 p.m. today at The Lighthouse, 10055 U.S. 224 West.
Food and drinks will be available for a donation.
Performers include Hearts of Faith, Christ Unlimited, the Morse Family, His Way II and Randy Long.

Mount Blanchard UM
MOUNT BLANCHARD — Vacation Bible school participants will present their “Kingdom Rock” program during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at Mount Blanchard United Methodist Church.
Paragon, a barbershop quartet, will also perform during the service.
On Wednesday, the congregation’s social concerns committee will sponsor a salad smorgasbord from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Meals will include a sandwich, unlimited portions of salad and a beverage.
Proceeds will benefit social concerns projects, including the food pantry, the village’s summer meal program and holiday food baskets.

Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic
CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation National Shrine volunteer bakery will hold a bake sale today and Sunday.
The sale, which will feature fresh rhubarb, strawberry-rhubarb and strawberry-cherry pies, will be held in the OLC information booth across from the basilica. Hours will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
Also included in the sale will be pizzas; several kinds of bread; apple, raisin, nut and cherry sweet rolls; doughnuts; an assortment of other pies; noodles and a variety of cookies.
All proceeds will go toward Our Lady of Consolation’s proposed elevator project.

Pandora Missionary
PANDORA — The Christian band, Unspoken, will present a concert at Pandora Missionary Church at 7 p.m. Sept. 21.
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. VIP passes for a meet-and-greet with the band, photos, autographs and refreshments are an additional $5.
The band has had two top-five singles, “Who You Are” and “Lift My Life Up.” Members have toured with bands like Sanctus Real and Big Daddy Weave.

Pandora UM
PANDORA — The Pandora United Methodist Church will hold an ice cream social from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall at the church, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.
The event is being hosted by Cub Scout Pack 3226 and Boy Scout Troop 226.
The menu will include a choice of sloppy joe, hot dog or chicken sandwich, cole slaw, baked beans and/or chicken and noodles.
Homemade pies and ice cream will also be featured.

St. Andrew’s UM
Vacation Bible school will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 3-7 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 120 W. Sandusky St.
The theme is “Weird Animals — Where Jesus’ Love is One of a Kind.” The program is open to children age 4 through those entering fifth grade.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Jericho Road will perform at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. James United Methodist Church, 201 S. Second St., North Baltimore.

St. Wendelin Roman Catholic
FOSTORIA — St. Wendelin Parish in Fostoria will celebrate the jubilees of Sisters Elizabeth “Liz” Garcia, Mary Jo Toll and JoAnn Torti with a Mass at 11 a.m. July 27. A reception featuring Mexican food and refreshments will follow in the parish hall.
Garcia, St. Wendelin’s pastoral associate for Hispanic ministry, is celebrating her 50th jubilee. She organizes aid, Bible study, English classes, weekly Spanish Masses and other needs of the Hispanic community in Fostoria.
Torti is celebrating her 60th jubilee this year. She is a former principal of St. Wendelin School and now serves with the En Camino Outreach Ministries.
Toll will be celebrating her 50th jubilee. The former St. Wendelin School teacher now serves as the Sisters of Notre Dame representative at the United Nations NGO in New York.
In August, St. Wendelin Parish and School will celebrate the 50th jubilee of the Rev. Nicholas Weibl.

Trinity Lutheran, Jenera
JENERA — Trinity Lutheran Church in Jenera will host vacation Bible school from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 27-31 at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera.
“Raindrops to Rainbows” is the theme of the program. Along with Bible lessons, there will be crafts, music and games.
Children entering preschool to having completed sixth grade are welcome.
Everyone is invited to an ice cream social to close the program on July 31.

Van Buren Presbyterian, Van Buren UM, Salem Cass UM

VAN BUREN — “Weird Animals” is the theme for the cooperative vacation Bible school offered by the Van Buren Presbyterian, Van Buren United Methodist and Salem Cass United Methodist churches.
Classes will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at Van Buren Presbyterian Church, 207 W. Market St., Van Buren, for children age 4 through sixth grade.
A final program will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
