MOUNT BLANCHARD — The praise band Broken Ground will lead a praise and worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Mount Blanchard United Methodist Church.
Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic
CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation National Shrine volunteer bakery will help celebrate Carey Fest weekend with a bake sale Aug. 2 and 3, offering an assortment of summer pies.
New pie combinations will be available, such as cherry-rhubarb, strawberry-rhubarb, pineapple-apple, raspberry-peach and a mixed berry pie called mountain berry. Also featured will be rhubarb, apple, Dutch apple, blueberry, peach and elderberry pies.
The sale will also include pizza, several kinds of bread, sweet rolls, doughnuts, noodles and angel hair pasta, and a variety of cookies.
The sale will be held in the church information booth across from the basilica. Hours are 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
All proceeds will benefit Our Lady of Consolation’s proposed elevator project.
PANDORA — A free community meal will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pandora United Methodist Church, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.
The menu will be roast beef and gravy, potatoes and carrots, cole slaw, dinner roll, strawberry shortcake and a beverage.
The meal will be provided by the Hilty Home.
Portage Holiness Camp
PORTAGE — Portage Holiness Camp will open the 136th annual camp meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 with a concert/gospel sing led by Abby Paskvan.
The concert is open to the public. A freewill offering will be taken.
A Southern gospel recording artist with Chapel Valley Recording Studios, Paskvan, 18, is a student at Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green. She started singing at age 2 and gave her first church performance at age 5.
She has been asked to sing the national anthem at several large venues, including Bowling Green State University athletic events and Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians baseball games. She is a regular performer at Christmastime in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and has also performed at Dollywood and Gatlinburg Gathering.
In 2013 and 2014, Paskvan was voted top five for “New Soloist of the Year” by the fans of Singing News Magazine.
The camp meeting will be held Aug. 7-17 with services for the public at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. They are led by the Revs. Doug Carter, Stephen Manley, George Holley and Larry Leckrone.
There will also be services and sporting activities at the same time for youth ages 12-18, led by the Rev. Brad Buhro, director.
Overnight facilities are available with reservations. The camp is located one mile east of Portage on Portage Road.

JENERA — Christmas in July will be celebrated Sunday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9340 Township Road 32, Jenera.
Members are encouraged to bring gifts for the less fortunate, specifically canned meats for Lutheran Social Services and/or laundry soap and toilet paper for Christian Clearing House.
Christmas carols will be sung at all services beginning at 7:50 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Small group study for all ages begins at 10:15 a.m.
VANLUE — Vacation Bible school for ages 3-12 will be held at Vanlue Community Church from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 4-8.
This year’s theme is Jungle Safari. There is no cost to attend.
