Milestone donation

Carolyn McCoy of Findlay donated her 40th gallon of blood Friday at StoneBridge Church. McCoy said she has been a regular blood donor for about 46 years, ever since her sister-in-law was in a car accident while pregnant. The two women shared the same blood type and McCoy said her sister-in-law was able to use the blood she donated. McCoy said she donates as often as she can. Blood donors must wait at least 56 days between donations. Angela Bermudez, a communications manager with the American Red Cross in Detroit who serves the Hancock County area, said reaching a 40-gallon milestone is remarkable and a feat not shared by many.
