CPR/AED/First Aid Class @ American Red Cross -- North Central Ohio Chapter

The American Red Cross will present an adult and pediatric CPR/AED and first aid class at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Hancock County Red Cross office, 125 Fair St.

The course teaches people how to perform CPR and use an AED, what to do if someone is choking, and how to prevent and respond to other emergencies until advanced medical help arrives. Participants also learn how to control bleeding and how to care for seizures and other sudden illnesses.

Cosiano Health Center Health and Wellness Fair @ University of Findlay Alumni Memorial Union

The University of Findlay is hosting the Cosiano Health Center’s Health and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Alumni Memorial Union.

The fair is free and open to the community and includes health screenings and educational materials.

Dining with Diabetes is a national Extension health education series which helps people to set SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time based) goals for their diet and physical activity. The next series will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings — Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24. All classes are held in the Cardiac Rehab Department at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

The program fee is $40 and, thanks to Blanchard Valley Health Foundation, there is scholarship assistance available if needed. Contact Julie Russell at 419-429-7656 for more information about financial assistance.

Registration deadline is Monday, Sept. 25, and a minimum of six participants is needed.
