The Findlay Light Opera Company presents Stuart Ross’s off-Broadway musical revue, “Forever Plaid,” running from Feb. 27 to March 1. When four young singers are killed in a car crash, they posthumously take the stage for one final gig in this goofy 1950s nostalgia trip. Forever Plaid is one of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory. This deliciously fun revue is chock-full of classic barbershop quartet harmonies and pitch-perfect melodies.
On Sunday, March 1, the show will be held at the Ritz Auditorium in Old Main, University of Findlay campus. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
Scheduled for the first Thursday of each month visit the Hancock Historical Museum for a variety of informative and educational presentations on a wide range of topics relevant to Findlay and Hancock County Ohio. Bring your lunch and enjoy learning about our community from a diverse group of presenters. Brown bags are free for museum members and $5 for nonmembers. Lunches from Main St. Deli are available for purchase for an additional $5.50. Lunches include sandwich, chips, cookie and drink.

The annual Maple Sugarin’ program, presented by Hancock Park District staff, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, west of Findlay on U.S. 224.
Maple trees will be tapped and the process used by pioneers and Native Americans to collect sap, transport it to the sugar bush and boil it down to produce maple syrup will be discussed.
There will be stops along the trail for presentations on sap science and sap-loving animals. There also will be a stop at the McKinnis House.
There will be a story presented in the shelter, and visitors can make a beaded keychain to represent the steps in making maple syrup. There will be refreshments available in the activity barn for a donation, and maple syrup products will be available to purchase, provided by Fruth’s Sugarhouse, Vanlue.
Prior to the program, an “all you can eat” pancake breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the activity barn.
Registration is required for the breakfast by March 12. Cost is $4 each for individuals at least 13 years old, and $2 each for 5- to 12-year-olds. Children 4 and under will be admitted free.
Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be available.

Gliding Stars is an adaptive ice skating program and first came to Findlay in November of 2000. The program uses adaptive equipment such as walkers and skates to help individuals with special needs the opportunity to skate. The Stars participate in weekly lessons and are paired up with trained volunteers under the direction of skilled skating instructors.
