If you would like to put your child on the waiting list for next year’s Art Camp, please email Terry Olthouse, education coordinator, at olthouse@findlay.edu. The Mazza Museum hosts a week-long Summer Art Camp for elementary students in the Findlay area. During the camp, children learn how to illustrate their own picture books using different media based on inspiration of the artwork in the Mazza Museum. The culmination is a family celebration with the students as the guests who participate in a book signing for their fans.

Comedian Adam Garman will present “Comedy in Agriculture” during the 69th annual meeting of the Hancock Soil and Water Conservation District on Aug. 4 in Brugeman Lodge at Riverbend Recreation Area, off Ohio 568 east of Findlay. A social hour and voting for a conservation district supervisor will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. A barbecue rib and baked chicken dinner, catered by Kathy’s Korner Restaurant, Arcadia, will be served from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. A brief business meeting will be held at 7 p.m., followed by Garman’s presentation. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 4-12 years old, and free for children 3 and under. Tickets are available by pre-sale only. The Stone Fabricator’s Alliance has chosen Findlay’s Legacy Marble & Stone as the host location for the 2015 fabricator’s Continuing Education Conference & Workshop. This event is expected to attract some of the nation’s leading marble, quartz, granite and stone fabrication and restoration professionals to the Findlay area. The event will also attract industry suppliers interested in sharing new equipment and technologies to the industries best operators. The Stone Fabricator’s Alliance workshop is expected to draw an estimated fifty participants from across North America to the event and is free to SFA members. Subject matter includes hand fabrication techniques, countertop repair techniques and efficient business management strategies. There will be a Fabricators Olympics session as well; designed to showcase attendee skills as they compete in raw material shaping and finishing. Legacy Marble & Granite, located in Findlay, Ohio carries the areas largest selection of granite and quartz countertops. LM&G is the only locally owned company that professionally fabricates and installs its own products. Legacy currently employs 12 people in Findlay.
