Swiss Mennonite 175 @ Original Swiss Mennonite Church
Aug 30 @ 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Many of the early pioneers of the Swiss Mennonite settlement left Europe in search of religious freedom. The first church of the settlement was built in 1840 on Road 4 between St. John’s and Ebenezer Mennonite churches. This year marks the 175th anniversary of the original church. A celebration will be held at the site of the original church with a worship service, lectures, displays, hymns, and a traditional Swiss meal under a big tent with featured speaker Myron Augsburger. The event will have the scripture theme: “The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”- Psalm 16:6
