Scheduled for the first Thursday of each month visit the Hancock Historical Museum for a variety of informative and educational presentations on a wide range of topics relevant to Findlay and Hancock County Ohio. Bring your lunch and enjoy learning about our community from a diverse group of presenters. Brown bags are free for museum members and $5 for nonmembers. Lunches from Main St. Deli are available for purchase for an additional $5.50. Lunches include sandwich, chips, cookie and drink.

The first Fostoria Farmers Market for the season will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Tiffin and Main streets. There will be flowers, planters, hanging baskets, plant and vegetable starts. Other vendors will have gifts for moms, including silk scarves, photography, hand-sewn items and jewelry, yard art and wind chimes, homemade jams, soaps, oils and jewelry, pottery, homemade doggie treats, painted signs, Amish brooms and homemade laundry detergent. Also for sale will be baked goods, honey and candles, fresh eggs and frozen beef. Eastern Star will provide breakfast sandwiches in the Masonic Lodge on East Tiffin Street, and Tasty Dogs will be available to purchase. The market is sponsored by Fostoria Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau, in conjunction with the Fostoria Garden Club Limited and the Review Times. The Putnam County 4-H and FFA Junior Fair Feeder Calf Auction, consisting of approximately 140 dairy and beef feeder calves, will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 21 at the OSU Extension office in Ottawa. Interested bidders can purchase any number of lots and can take possession of the purchased animals between 9 and 10 a.m. June 25. Payment must be made at the conclusion of the base bid auction. A listing of the calves, grouped by weight, will be available at the Junior Fair office the morning of June 21. Calves range in weight from 350 to 600 pounds. University of Findlay Forensic Science Summer Camp
University of Findlay Forensic Science Summer Camp @ The University of Findlay

High school sophomores, juniors and seniors can register for the University of Findlay’s Forensic Science Summer Camp, to be held in June. Students will use biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and deductive reasoning during hands-on activities in a university lab and at mock crime scenes on campus. They will attempt to solve a series of unsolved crimes, examining evidence left at the crime scenes. The camp will be held Sunday, June 25 through Thursday, June 29 and students will stay on campus during that time. The cost is $425. Carole Elchert, assistant professor of communication at the University of Findlay, will give a presentation on her new film, “Activismo: Art & Dissidence in Cuba,” at 7 p.m. Sunday at The Link, 112 E. Findlay St., Carey. In December 2015, Elchert and Phil Sugden, assistant professor of art at Bluffton University, traveled to Havana, Cuba, to interview artists and gather footage for a film. The documentary focuses on six of Cuba’s prominent artists and explores the role of art as activism.
