Jan 17 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
The Arts Partnership’s Youtheatre program is offering age-appropriate theater workshops during its “So You Want to be a STAR?” program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. The workshops offer area youth currently in grades 1 through 12 theatrical instruction and include a presentation to family and friends at 12:15 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Great Room, located at 2330 S. Main St. in Findlay. The workshops are as follows: • Students in grades six through 12 — Making Characters Come to Life. Learn how to create a character from head to toe with Julie Lane. First, the students will learn the creative process to designing the physical look of a character through makeup, costume and hair. Then, they will team up with the first- through third-grade group and transform those students into the characters they have designed for a mini-production. • Students in grades four through five — Theatre Tech: The 3-D Backdrop with Merv Schrock. In this workshop, students will learn about the technical side of theater — sets, lights, multimedia and sound, and how tech brings a show to life. The students will then work with the other sections, grade one through three, and six through 12, in performing a mini-production to show how everything works together. • Students in grades one through three — Making Characters Come to Life. Learn how to create a character from head to toe with Lindsay Taylor. *This session is full. No more students will be accepted.
