You are invited to finally get out, clean up and drive your prized four-wheeled possessions to the initial Cars and Coffee Cruise-In car show hosted by Panera Bread. No charge, no judging and no trophies, just car fun for two hours with other great cars and their proud owners in the Findlay area. Bring your kids and cameras too. The event will continue every first Sunday of the month from May through October.

JENERA “” Moms can mingle with each other and enjoy activities with their children during Trinity Lutheran Church’s Mornings with Mommy program. The educational playdates are held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. the first and third Mondays of each month at the church, 301 N. Main St. Advance registration is required by calling 419-326-4685 or online at tlcjenera.org. The cost is $5 per family (not per child), per session. Each session has its own theme and offers activities for children ages infant through 5 years. Sessions begin with a devotion and include language and literacy activities, arts and crafts, sensory activities, gross and fine motor skills and an infant area. Moms and children may explore these activities at their own pace.

Classes in the park are for homeschooled families. This 10 day series will be held on the first Wednesday of each month from September to June to explore different science based curriculum programs such as earth, space, physical and life science. Each class will cover some of Ohio’s teaching standards in a fun and exciting way. Most of the classes will be held at Oakwoods Nature Preserve, but we will visit some of the other parks in Hancock County. We will follow Findlay City Schools for weather delays and cancellations. 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., ages 5-8 11 a.m. to noon, ages 9-13 Series includes the following: September 2 – Plant and Animal Classification – Oakwood Nature Preserve (ONP) October 7 – Ecosystems & Habitats – Riverbend Recreation Area (RRA), Shelter 3 November 4 – Living History: Life for the McKinnis’s in 1847 – Litzenberg Memorial Woods (LMW) December 2 – Motion – ONP January 6 – Earth Rocks – ONP February 3 – Solar System – ONP March 2- Physics & Experiments – RRA, Lodge April 6 – Energy – RRA, Shelter 3 May 4 – Wildflowers and Trees- LMW June 1 – Outdoor Recreation Fun (archery, canoeing, kayaking, fishing) – ONP Register with $20 per child for the series or $3.00 per child for an individual month by 4:30 PM on Wednesday, August 26; a medical form is required and available online or at the park office

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is hosting a craft fest on May 4. Titled “May The 4th Be With You Craft Fest,” the event will be at the library and will last from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Lindamood Room. It’s open to all ages and will include games and crafts designed around the Star Wars movies and characters. Costumes are optional. No registration is necessary.

Teens and tweens who are fans of the “Doctor Who” television show can join a club hosted by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. The library will host “Whovian Wednesday” from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lindamood Room. Students in grades four to 12 can participate in “Doctor Who” trivia, games, crafts, and watch video clips. They can also come dressed in their favorite fan gear. No registration is required. The Center for Autism & Dyslexia’s Parent Teacher Organization will sponsor a Health & Safety Fair at the school from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The Hancock County Sheriff Department’s K-9 unit will present a demonstration with Sonny and Charlie at 11 a.m. The McComb Police Department’s K-9 unit will be at the fair from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Children’s activities will include pedal cars, games and an inflatable obstacle course. The A.P.P.L.E. bus will feature science experiments for young adults. Admission is free, but attendees are asked to bring a canned food item that will be donated to City Mission.
