Bluffton’s fireworks, postponed in late June due to the weather, is rescheduled for 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Bluffton’s National Night Out celebration at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. The fireworks will cap off the National Night Out. The display should last between 20 and 30 minutes. The National Night Out and fireworks will take place on Snider Road, Bluffton.

Residents of the Mound Park area will hold their 73rd annual neighborhood picnic at 6 p.m. Thursday in Mound Park. Neighbors are asked to bring two dishes to share as well as table service and lawn chairs. Residents of Park Avenue should bring a dessert, residents of Mound Street a hot dish and residents of South Cory Street a cold dish; with the second dish their choice. Lemonade, iced tea, water and Dietsch’s ice cream will be provided. Everyone is encouraged to invite old neighbors and friends. Visit Arlington for the revival of the Homecoming Festival, renamed the Arlington Village Festival! Plenty is planned this weekend! On Friday, the festival willl kick-off with a parade through Downtown Arlington. Make sure you family visits the Kids Zone that will have carnival rides, inflatables, and much more! For teens in 7th–12th grade there will be a Punt Pass competition at 4 and a Dodgeball Tournament beginning at 8! The Cornhole Tournament will take place at 8 p.m. with registration at 7, and the Adult Zone with a beer garden and DJ will be open from 7–11 p.m. On Saturday, kick off the day with a 5K Color Run at 9 a.m., make sure you register at 8 a.m.! The Kids Zone will be open from 4–11 p.m. with a Kiddie Parade at 6. Craft Vendors will be on site from 4–10 p.m. and the highlight of the festival will be the concerts! At 4 p.m. don’t miss Sean Williams, followed by Nashville Crush at 7 p.m.! Tickets for the concert are just $5 and pre-sale tickets are available at Appleseed IGA, Jac & Do’s-Arlington, and Commercial Savings Bank in Arlington.

The Farmers and Merchants Picnic, also known as the F&M Picnic, is one of the oldest festivals in Ohio. Started in 1913, the picnic has become a two day affair with live music and tractor and truck pulls on Friday followed by a full day of entertainment, midway style events, food and people.

The 2015 Riley Creek Festival will be held Aug. 7 and 8 in Pandora. A car show begins Aug. 7 at 4 p.m., followed by a burnout at dusk on the corner of Jefferson and Main streets. A parade will take place at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 8; a football scrimmage featuring the Pandora-Gilboa High School Rockets team will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 In conjunction with the 2015 Riley Creek Festival, an open house will be held at the Riley Township District Number 3, Bridenbaugh School in Pandora from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 8. The building has been fully restored and is on the National Register of Historical Places. At 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Lloyd Harnishfager, local historian and author, will be at the school to talk about life in the Black Swamp. Members of the Bridenbaugh family will be available to talk about the history of the school and the restoration project. The school is located on Putnam County 6, two miles north of Pandora off Ohio 12. There is no admission charge and families are welcome. The Findlay Pride Picnic will be held at noon Saturday in the former dance hall at Riverside Park. Hot dogs, bratwurst and hamburgers will be provided; those attending are asked to bring a dish to share. The family picnic is sponsored by Spectrum of Findlay, an LGBT group that supports local charities and works toward better relations between the community and the LGBT population.

A movie and fun night will be hosted by the Beautification Committee of Mount Blanchard on the town square from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Aug. 15. Activities such as Candy Bar Bingo, cornhole and a bounce house will be available from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The bounce house will cost 50 cents per person. There will also be music at the event. The movie will begin at dusk. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to the square. Kimmel’s chicken barbecue will also have dinners for sale for $8. The dinners include a half chicken, two sides and a roll. Tickets for the dinner will be available at Liberty Convenience, The Hair Stop, The Food Center and the pool. Desserts will be sold for extra charge.

Night Jazz and AMVETS Post 21 will present a benefit dance for Flag City Honor Flight at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Findlay Senior Center, 339 E. Melrose Ave. Admission to the event is free, but donations will be accepted. The band will perform hits from many musical eras, focusing on swing music of the 1930s and 1940s. Flag City Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization that has transported nearly 500 veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor. The tours are conducted with no expense to the veterans. Night Jazz has been performing music made famous by the likes of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Frank Sinatra since its formation in 1995. The band has appeared at numerous public and private events around the area including annual appearances at the Riverside Summer Concert Series.
