Come join women of all ages for a weekend getaway where you will learn how long, how far, how deep, and how wide God’s love is for you. The retreat is located a Winebrenner Theological Seminary on the University of Findlay campus. Come sing, praise, worship, fellowship and enjoy the teaching of gifted speakers and teachers. The full weekend costs $90 is registered before March 1st. After March 1st, weekend registration is $100. Saturday-only registration is $80. Scholarships may be available. Registration does include the cost of lunch and dinner on Saturday. Snacks will be available for purchase during the retreat. Lodging and transportation is not included.

The annual Maple Sugarin’ program, presented by Hancock Park District staff, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at Litzenberg Memorial Woods, west of Findlay on U.S. 224. Maple trees will be tapped and the process used by pioneers and Native Americans to collect sap, transport it to the sugar bush and boil it down to produce maple syrup will be discussed. There will be stops along the trail for presentations on sap science and sap-loving animals. There also will be a stop at the McKinnis House. There will be a story presented in the shelter, and visitors can make a beaded keychain to represent the steps in making maple syrup. There will be refreshments available in the activity barn for a donation, and maple syrup products will be available to purchase, provided by Fruth’s Sugarhouse, Vanlue. Prior to the program, an “all you can eat” pancake breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the activity barn. Registration is required for the breakfast by March 12. Cost is $4 each for individuals at least 13 years old, and $2 each for 5- to 12-year-olds. Children 4 and under will be admitted free. Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be available.
