The Millstream Singers and the Great Lakes Male Chorus Association will present their Big Sing at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 29. “Magic Moments — A Celebration of the ’50s & ’60s in Song” will take the audience back in time with 150 male singers performing numbers such as “Put Your Head On My Shoulder,” “Turn Around, Look at Me,” and more. Seven male choruses will be in concert individually and combined. The Millstream Singers men’s choral group, of Findlay, comprises members of the Great Lakes Male Chorus Association and began holding its first rehearsals in a choir room at Findlay College (now the University of Findlay) in 1980, with music borrowed from Bowling Green State University. The chorus has since acquired an extensive library of choral music and rehearses weekly at First Presbyterian Church on Monday evenings. The Millstream Singers perform at various civic functions, local events and nursing homes. The group is available upon request to serve Findlay/Hancock County and surrounding areas. The Great Lakes Male Chorus Association was formed in 2005. Its goal is to enjoy singing and performing music that is challenging and entertaining, and to promote male chorus singing. The association also seeks to serve its communities. The association sponsors competitive scholarships that are available to music students throughout the Great Lakes region.
