The Fostoria Community Band will present a free spring concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fostoria Intermediate Elementary School. The theme is “Across the Pond — Music from the British Isles to the American Shores” and will include traditional marches, folk songs, movie music and Dixieland. The band is directed by Craig McKenzie.

Dulcimers @ the Library will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesdays, March 13, 20 and 27 at the Bluffton Public Library. “Jammin’ at the Library” will be held at 6 p.m. March 12 and 26. This is a song circle-style jam session open to anyone. On March 22, “Jammin’ Instructional” will be held at 6 p.m. For more information, email email@example.com.

Ohio Music Teachers Association Music Festival @ Trinity Lutheran Church

The Findlay area members of the Ohio Music Teachers Association will present the 41st annual music festival between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. March 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 935 W. Bigelow Ave., where more than 110 piano students are scheduled to perform. Outstanding adjudicators this year include Paula Deardurff of Bellefontaine; Stephanie Titus of Bluffton; Denise Eikum of Swanton; Clint Fox of Bowling Green State University; Linda Rinderknecht of Upper Sandusky; and Bonnie Rowe of Toledo. The festival was established locally in 1978. Students receive verbal and written comments on the overall musical effect, presentation and technical aspect of memorized material. Each student performing receives a comment sheet, a certificate and a colored ribbon indicating years of participation in the festival. Honored this year will be 10-year participants: Liberty Lerma and Mattea Lutz, students of Alsbrooks Smith Jr.; and Carl Rupp, student of Joan Benedict. An 11-year participant will be Emily Cairns, student of Eleanor McCoy. Cairns will also be honored as a senior. There will be nine recitals throughout the day, all of them open to the public.
