The Red Cross has an urgent need for platelet donors and blood donors with types O, A-negative and B-negative after a weather-related shortfall in donations.
In northwestern Ohio and southeastern Michigan severe winter weather forced the cancellation of 14 blood drives, resulting in about 364 fewer than expected blood and platelet donations over the past week.
Several blood drives have been scheduled in this area, including:
Monday, First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St., 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Carey Shrine cafeteria, 315 Clay St., Carey, noon to 6 p.m.
Thursday, Mohawk Community Center, 295 Ohio 231, Sycamore, 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Jan. 18, Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Van Buren St., Fostoria, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Jan. 21, St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 512 W. Sycamore St., Columbus Grove, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Jan. 22, Parkview Christian Church, 15035 Ohio 12 East, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.;
Jan. 23, Arcadia United Methodist Church, 19397 Brown Road, Arcadia, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Jan. 25, North Baltimore American Legion, 539 E. South St., North Baltimore, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
