Christian Book and Gift Store
The Christian Book and Gift Store will sponsor its second annual eRace Hunger event from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Lighthouse, 10055 W. U.S. 224.
The family event will include car races similar to a Pinewood Derby as well as cornhole and ringtoss games, face painting, glider racing and concessions.
Car kits are available at the book store.
The admission fee is a combination of food and personal items which will be donated to City Mission, Chopin Hall, Christian Clearing House and the Hancock County Women’s Resource Center.
A number of races will be available to enter. The $3 entry fee for each race, along with concession proceeds, will be donated to a local ministry to be determined.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo
Youth and adults from churches and schools in northwestern Ohio traveled to Washington, D.C. Wednesday to participate in the annual March for Life.
The event draws pro-life supporters from across the country each year to mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion. The March for Life begins at the National Mall and concludes at the Supreme Court building.
Several hundred youth and chaperones traveled on a bus organized by the Diocese of Toledo’s Youth Ministry office. Area youth groups participating represented Our Lady of Consolation, Carey; St. Michael, Kalida; Sts. Peter and Paul, Ottawa; and St. Wendelin, Fostoria. Two eighth-grade pro-life essay contest winners from St. Michael the Archangel in Findlay also made the trip.
Mount Blanchard UM
MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Mount Blanchard United Methodist Church will hold a contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Music will be led by the Broken Ground praise band.
Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic
CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation National Shrine’s volunteer bakery, under the direction of the Rev. Paul Faroh, will hold a Super Bowl weekend bake sale.
The sale will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 1 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 2. Featured items will include pizzas, homemade potato chips; multi-grain, Italian wheat and raisin bread; doughnuts; three flavors of coffee cakes; an assortment of pies; marshmallow candy and assorted cookies.
All proceeds will go toward Our Lady of Consolation projects.
Pandora UM
PANDORA –The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall of the church, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.
This month’s meal is provided by the 7’oclock Flock. The menu will include a grilled cheese sandwich, relish tray, dessert and beverage.
St. Wendelin Roman Catholic
FOSTORIA — St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria will host Jesus by Candlelight, the first of a two-part event, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday in the parish hall.
A meal will be served and Ruth Steinacker will give a presentation at 6 p.m. Eucharistic adoration will follow in the church from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., with worship led by the musical group Rising Dawn.
There is no cost to attend but an offering will be received for the meal.
The second part of the event will be held Feb. 23.
Separately, the parish will also begin a new group for men, That Man is You, on Monday. Meetings will be held weekly from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for 13 weeks in St. Wendelin’s Upper Room.
That Man is You combines Scripture, secular research and a little fun to address the pressures and temptations facing men in modern culture. It seeks to form leaders who will be capable of transforming homes and society.
The spring session is titled “The Revelation of the Father.”

Van Buren Presbyterian
VAN BUREN — Van Buren Presbyterian Church will hold its eighth annual Groundhog Day pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 1.
Unlimited portions of pancakes and fresh sausage will be served. A freewill offering will be accepted with all proceeds benefiting the church’s mission fund.
The church is located at 207 W. Market Street in Van Buren.
