Findlay First Edition, Findlay High School’s show choir, was named the overall grand champion at the Solon Show Choir Invitational, held Saturday in Solon.
The choir, one of 18 choirs from Ohio to compete, also won awards for best vocal performance, best choreography, best show design, best instrumental combo and class A champion. It also received a special award for best performance of the song “Wings.” Chase Wagner was named the choir’s most dynamic performer.
Findlay First Edition will travel to the Bishop Luers Midwest Invitational in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Saturday. The Bishop Luers invitational is the oldest show choir competition in the country, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the event. Findlay First Edition has won grand champion at Bishop Luers 10 times, the only Ohio choir to do so.
