Wine tasting to benefit guide dog program

Lodestar, a Findlay-based nonprofit that places guide dogs with blind and visually impaired children, will host a wine tasting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 18 at the Wine Merchant, 540 S. Main St.
To date, Lodestar has placed two guide dogs with blind children, one in Ohio and one in Michigan. Although the dogs are placed at no cost to a child’s family, the cost to train the dogs ranges from $15,000 to $20,000.
Jewel, the agency’s newest dog in training, will be at the event.
