ADA — The Ohio Northern University Astronomy Club will host a free viewing from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.
The focus will be “Mars Near Opposition.” Opposition is when a planet is in the opposite direction as the sun. Mars reached opposition on April 8 and passed closest to the earth on April 14. On Saturday, Mars will still be relatively close to the earth which is a good time to observe it in the telescope.
Other targets will include Jupiter, Saturn and deep sky objects like the Sombrero Galaxy.
Check for cancelations on the public events webpage at http://www2.onu.edu/~j-pinkney/astro/publicevents.html.
