Launch party planned for new drug-free campaign

The Hancock County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services board will host a launch party for its new “I Am Enough” campaign from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Dock at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 800 S. Main St.
The program is made possible from a grant received by the Hancock County Community Partnership from the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. It allows the partnership to target specific substance abuse issues in the community and determine the most appropriate ways to address them.
Through surveys, it was determined that emphasis should be placed on prescription drug misuse among 18- to 25-year-old adults in Hancock County.
The “I Am Enough” program will involve a media campaign that reinforces a positive message and encourage others to join, increase awareness, provide education and help to validate those who have chosen a drug-free lifestyle.
Saturday’s event will include a presentation of a new website and ways the community can become involved in the campaign. A photo booth will be available for participants to take selfies which will be uploaded to the website.
There will also be a raffle drawing, audience participation games, food and music.
