Ada band and choir to perform

ADA — Ada band and choir students in grades six through 12 will present “Vision Quest” at 7 p.m. Monday in the Ada School auditorium.
This will be the first public performance of the piece, commissioned and paid for by the Ada Music Boosters.
The Ada High School band will perform at 7 p.m. May 20. Throughout the performance high school band and guard members will receive awards for years of participation in the music programs.
The national John Philip Sousa Award, recognizing an individual for superior musicianship, dependability, loyalty and cooperation; and the Arion Award, given for outstanding achievement in both academic and community involvement as well as personal and professional performing ability, will be awarded. Local awards including the Kate Brown Award and the Ron McVicker Scholarship will also be given.
