Author to speak at library

LEIPSIC — The Putnam County District Library’s Leipsic Edwards-Gamper Memorial location will host Leipsic author Ray Woods at 11 a.m. May 31.
Woods’ book, “D-Day Hero Destroyer Identified after 68 Year Search,” is about his service as a radarman on the USS O’Brien during World War II. He survived six major invasions from D-Day Normandy to Okinawa, and his radar room was blown up twice, once by a German shore battery and again by a Japanese suicide plane.
The book will be available for purchase and signing. The program is free.
