Barbecue, parade and movie planned in Mount Blanchard

MOUNT BLANCHARD — A chicken barbecue, catered by Kimmel’s, a children’s parade and movie night are planned June 28 in Mount Blanchard, sponsored by the Mount Blanchard Beautification Committee.
Tickets for the barbecue are $9 and must be ordered by Saturday. They are available from committee members, at area businesses or by calling Jackie Porcello at 419-306-3073. The meal includes half a chicken, baked beans, applesauce or potato salad, a dinner roll and a beverage. Homemade pie and cake will be available for purchase at an additional charge. Anyone who would like to donate a pie or cake is asked to call Porcello.
Serving will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the parking lot behind the former bank building. Some outdoor seating will be available downtown.
Proceeds from the barbecue will benefit continued improvements in the community.
The parade will begin at 7 p.m. Line up will be at the Delaware Township Fire Department parking lot. The route will continue down Main Street to the town square, where winners will be announced. Judging will be at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories.

At dusk, a family movie will be shown downtown. Those attending should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Popcorn will be available to purchase.
