Bereavement programs offered

Bridge Bereavement Services will offer two events as part of Group STAR (Special Times Always Remembered). The programs allow children ages 6 to 12 to come together with their peers and participate in activities that will help them express their feelings and create lasting memories of their loved one.
Treasured Memories will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 7 in the Beckett and Davis Rooms at Blanchard Valley Hospital, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 10 at Heritage Corner Health Care in Bowling Green. Participants may choose either session.
Treasured Memories will teach children how to keep a relationship with their loved one through memories and will include the creation of a memory box.
Grief Trails will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Challenged Champions Equestrian Center in Ottawa. Transportation from Findlay will be provided. Grief Trails allows children to learn through horses about the importance of communicating emotions and needs to others.
Treasured Memories and Grief Trails are free and open to the public, and lunch will be provided. Reservations are required by Tuesday for Treasured Memories and by July 29 for Grief Trails. To register, call 800-982-3306 or email Jill Gilgenbach, bereavement coordinator, at
