Charles Thaxton (“Char-El”)
Northwestern Ohio composer Charles Thaxton, based in Fostoria, has released his fourth CD under the name Char-El, titled “The Healing.”
The CD is a departure from his previous releases as this time the music is free of drums or percussion elements and is a peaceful, 65-minute flow featuring flutes, acoustic guitars and harp alongside Thaxton’s atmospheric and orchestral synthesizers and piano work.
The CD consists of tranquil, melodic sequences designed to lift the spirit and support stress relief, massage, Reiki or any type of healing work.
Thaxton is joined on the album by Findlay musicians Desra Dabney on flutes, Gerald Natal on acoustic steel and nylon string guitars, and Toledo-area harpist Denise Grupp-Verbon.
The CD can be purchased online at or, or by contacting Thaxton at
