School supply collection planned

OTTAWA — The agencies of the Putnam County Crisis Assistance Network will collect and distribute basic school supplies for children in need.
The United Way of Putnam County will host a “stuff the bus” event from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 8 and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 9 in front of the Ottawa Wal-Mart store.
Volunteers are needed both days to help with the collection. Anyone interested is asked to call Jeannie at the Putnam County United Way office.
The 11th annual Putnam County Back-to-school Giveaway will be held Aug. 11 at the Putnam County Educational Service Center.
To receive free school supplies, qualifying families may acquire a referral form at Putnam County Job and Family Services.
Groups and individuals interested in helping provide school supplies should contact the United Way at 419-523-4505. Cash donations are welcome and will be used to purchase supplies. Checks may be made payable to United Way/Back-to-School and mailed to P.O. Box 472, Ottawa.
