Winebrenner Theological Seminary will graduate nine individuals who have prepared for Christian ministry on Aug. 2.
The 10:30 a.m. service will be held in Winebrenner’s TLB Foundation Convocation Center, 950 N. Main St. The public is invited to the service and picnic that follows.
Graduates this year are from Churches of God, General Conference; Eternal Life Church International; United Church of Christ; Evangelical Free Church; United Brethren Church; and Church of Christ.
William Reist, senior pastor of College First Church of God, will be the commencement speaker.
Graduates include one local man, James Allan Smarkel, of Findlay, who will receive a Master of Arts degree in Family Ministry. He is a member of Central Church of Christ.
Winebrenner Seminary is the only seminary of the Churches of God, General Conference. It serves both national and international students from more than 35 denominations.
Last year, Winebrenner bought the former Scotland School for Veterans Children in Scotland, Pennsylvania, and offers occasional courses there as well as on the Findlay campus. The seminary also began offering courses at Marion Correctional Institution in Marion for those wanting to earn a Diploma in Pastoral Training.
