Training for volunteers set in September

The Christian Clearing House will host volunteer training from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 16 at the Family Center, 1800 N. Blanchard St.
The Christian Clearing House is a nonprofit agency that helps the needy in Hancock County through emergency situations, assisting with rent to prevent eviction, utility bills to prevent disconnect, prescription medication, food and other emergency needs. It is funded by churches, companies and individual donations as well as fundraising events.
Volunteers are required to serve six hours per month. Volunteer office hours are daytime hours, Monday through Friday, but there are also fundraising events outside of these hours in which volunteers participate.
Prospective volunteers should call 419-422-2222 or stop by the office in the Family Center for more information.
