The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation will be offering a fall learning series to help nonprofit leaders address relevant nonprofit topics. All trainings are free.
The foundation seeks to support nonprofits to become self-sufficient entities always ready to meet community needs through improved communication and collaboration among nonprofit organizations, strengthened executive leaders and governing bodies, and increased knowledge about and implementation of nonprofit governance and organizational effectiveness.
• Shaping Outcomes: How to Use the Community Foundation Logic Model to Plan and Measure Success, presented by Heather Stombaugh of JustWrite Solutions. In this Lunch ‘n Learn session, nonprofit professionals will learn how to read and construct the elements of the Community Foundation Logic Model and also learn how to develop outcome objectives and measures that will yield meaningful information about agency programs for funders, current/prospective donors and the public. The training will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Community Foundation boardroom, 101 W. Sandusky St., Suite 207. It is limited to 15 participants who are nonprofit CEOs or grantwriters. Pizza and salad will be provided.
• Communicate Like a Pro During Crisis Situations, presented by Jennifer Ruhe with Delaware City Schools. Participants will learn the basics of preparing a crisis plan and winning strategies to communicate with media and community stakeholders during and after disaster strikes. The workshop will include scenario planning and participants will receive templates to start an agency’s crisis plans. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 19 in the Family Center conference rooms. Participation is limited to 50 nonprofit CEO and frontline staff members and/or nonprofit board members.
• Engaging the Next Generation of Board Leaders, presented by Jennifer Williams of Williams & Associates Philanthropic Consulting. This program will explore nonprofit agency board demographics and discuss creative approaches to engage younger community leaders in local nonprofit organizations. The training will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 21 in the Family Center conference rooms. It is limited to 50 nonprofit leadership staff and board members.
