UPPER SANDUSKY — Auditions will begin next week for the Star Players of Upper Sandusky’s production of “Annie.”

Participants should wear comfortable clothes and secure shoes to participate in a dance audition and may be asked to read from a script. Approximately seven girls will be cast as Annie and her fellow orphans.
Auditions for adult roles will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday and are open to high school students and older. Many lead, character and chorus roles are available. Those auditioning for adult roles must also bring 90 seconds of a prepared song not from the musical and be prepared to participate in a dance audition.
A canine audition will be held at 6 p.m. May 1 for the role of Sandy. Large breeds are preferred and the dog must be able to walk across the stage without a trainer, be able to stop on a mark, and interact well with young children.
All auditions will take place at the Star Theatre, 121 W. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky.
Rehearsals begin May 1 and will be held three to four nights a week, depending on the role.
The production will be staged June 23-25 and June 30 through July 2. It will be directed by Vicki McClurkin, with Matthew J. Armstrong as music director and Timothy Sherman as choreographer.
