FOSTORIA — First Baptist Church, 1635 Fostoria Ave., Fostoria, invites the public to its Christmas program, “How Shall THE King Come,” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The program will consist of music by the children and the adult choirs, as well as special numbers, congregational singing and a message from Pastor Mike Maskell from Luke 2:7 and other portions of the Scripture.
First Lutheran Church, 109 E. Lincoln St., will celebrate the second Sunday of Advent, a time of anticipation and hope, this week. The Kids of the Kingdom Children’s Choir will provide the message at the 10:45 a.m. worship service. The title of this Christmas program is “Hold on to Your Hats, It’s Christmas,” composed by Cathy Skogen-Soldner; directed by Sally Rice, Heather Nielsen and Jenny Welte; and accompanied by Miriam Gibson. The brass ensemble will also contribute Christmas music.
Sojourner Quartet, national recording artists based in Findlay, will present a Christmas concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the North Main Street campus of Gateway Church, 620 N. Main St. Parking is available in the back of the church and on Main Street. The concert will include favorite Christmas songs such as “Mary Did You Know” and “Joy To The World,” along with a medley of several traditional songs. A freewill offering will be received to assist the quartet with its January 2018 recording project, “25th Anniversary Best of Sojourner.”

CAREY — The 46th Carey Ecumenical Christmas Concert is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay St., Carey. The choir is co-directed by Jack Gerding and Patricia Murphy, and the accompanists are Joy Orians and Ruth Coldwell. Kate O’Reilly serves as the secretary and rehearsal assistant.
