Results from ‘community conversations’ reviewed

The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation and United Way of Hancock County will be jointly hosting an event that will unveil the results of the 2017 community conversations effort.

Trained facilitators heard from over 1,000 individuals in Hancock County. Their results were compiled and will be presented from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, 200 W. Main Cross St.

The event is free and open to the public, and those planning to attend are asked to register by Monday at or by calling 419-423-1432.

The community conversations project was part of an overall community assessment and allowed for face-to-face interaction with city and county residents, on their turf, and encouraged residents to share their perspectives on various topics and issues. The conversations were informal and encouraged participants to share concerns, personal experiences, challenges and aspirations for the Hancock County area.

The two organizations are using the results to guide their work over the next few years.
