McCOMB — The McComb Public Library is now fine-free.
Since the goal is to allow all patrons access to library collections and resources and fines are a small percentage of the annual budget, the library’s board of trustees voted to make the change, as of June 1. Charges will only be added to a patron’s account for lost items. All existing fines will be forgiven except for charges for lost items.
Borrowing privileges will be suspended until overdue items are returned. Patrons will still receive overdue notices.
