The Republican Women of Hancock County will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hancock Historical Museum, 422 W. Sandusky St.

The program will feature the following candidates: State Senator, a representative for incumbent Rob McColley, Bob Barker and Craig Kupferberg; State Central Committee representative, incumbent Rob Radway, Christina Muryn, Gina Campbell and Bob Campbell; Hancock County Auditor, Charity Rauschenberg.

First Friday Luncheon @ DOCK at St. Marks United Methodist Church

Findlay Mayor Lydia Mihalik and Alissa Preston, director of the Hancock County Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be the guest speakers at this week’s First Friday Luncheon hosted by the Hancock County Republican Party.

Mihalik and Preston are expected to give an update about downtown Findlay activities and the future.

The lunch will be held Friday at The Dock, located behind St. Marks United Methodist Church, 800 S. Main St. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. with the program set to begin at noon.

Hancock County Board of Elections May Primary Ballot Canvas @ Hancock County Board of Elections

The Hancock County Board of Elections will conduct the official canvass of the May 8 primary election ballots at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the board office, 201 E. Lincoln St.

The elections board will hold its regular meeting following the canvass, and is expected to vote to certify the election results.

The meeting is open to the public.

Richard Cordray, the Democratic candidate for Ohio governor, will make a campaign stop in Findlay for a “meet and greet” about 5 p.m. Monday at Coffee Amici.

Tri-County GOP Picnic @ Mount Victory Sportsman Club

The annual Tri-County GOP Picnic for Hancock, Hardin and Logan counties will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Victory Sportsman Club.

The cost is $5 per adult and children are free.

Food will be catered by the Plaza Inn, Mount Victory, and will include pulled pork, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, seven-layer salad, potato salad and drinks.

Members of the Hancock County GOP will meet at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the First Lutheran Church parking lot, 109 E. Lincoln St., and carpool to Mount Victory.

“Your Vote, Your Voice” with Mike Brickner @ Winebrenner Theological Seminary, Room 254

Voting rights expert Mike Brickner will be speaking Monday at the University of Findlay in celebration of Constitution Day.

He will give a free, public talk, titled, “Your Vote, Your Voice,” at 7 p.m. in Winebrenner Theological Seminary, Room 254.

Brickner will discuss U.S. Supreme Court cases involving voter purges, partisan gerrymandering, how you can protect your vote, and how to encourage others to cast ballots.

He serves as the Ohio director of All Voting is Local. He was previously the senior policy director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio, where he led the organization’s policy, advocacy and legislative work.
