Findlay Halloween Parade @ South Main Street, Findlay

Downtown construction has caused Findlay’s Halloween parade to be moved south.

The Hancock Leadership Alumni Association, which puts on the parade, reports on Facebook that Tuesday’s parade will begin on South Main Street at Sixth Street/Lake Cascades Parkway, travel north on South Main Street, and conclude at Lima Street.

Participants will be contacted with staging locations and times.

The parade is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Bluffton Public Library will host its annual haunted library fun house during trick-or-treat hours in Bluffton.

The event, from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, will include family-friendly activities.

Horseback Trick-or-Treat

Trick-or-treating on horseback, offered as a fundraiser by Project HOPE, will be offered two weekends this month.

The event takes place from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29, at 6645 Township Road 215. Participants will ride on horseback through 10 stations for treats. No horse experience is necessary. Cost is $10 per ride. Other activities include unicorn pictures, face painting, food and crafts.

Carey Kiwanis Club Harvest Festival @ Waterworks Park pavilion

The Carey Kiwanis Club will present the annual harvest festival from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Waterworks Park pavilion.

Businesses are invited to set up a vehicle trunk full of giveaways, candy or promotional items during the trunk-or-treat event. Trunks can be set up free.

Volunteers interested in helping during the festival by serving soup and beverages, handing out goodie bags or assisting with cleanup may contact Deirdre Christy at 419-396-7993.

Findlay-Hancock County Public Library Horror Movie Showings @ Lindamood Room at the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will hold a critical and informational showing of the Italian horror film “Five Dolls for an August Moon” at 6 p.m. Monday in the Lindamood Room.

The film was directed by Mario Bava and stars William Berger, Edwige Fenech and Ira von Furstenburg.

A second Italian horror film ‘Suspiria’ Halloween night will be shown at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Lindamood Room. Directed by Dario Argento and starring Jessica Harper, Stefania Casini, Joan Bennet and Alida Valli.

Due to the graphic nature of horror films, this presentation is intended for mature viewers. No registration is required.

Forest-Jackson Public Library Halloween Party @ Forest-Jackson Public Library

The Forest-Jackson Public Library will host a special ghost scavenger hunt at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

A Halloween party will be held at 10:30 a.m. and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The party is open to children in preschool through second grade, who are invited to wear a costume.
