The Friends group of the Upper Sandusky Community Library is accepting donations for a book sale.

Gently used books, DVDs and audiobooks will be accepted through July 28.

The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 2; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 3; and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 4. A preview sale for Friends members will be held from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 1. To join the group, stop by the circulation desk.

Give Cancer the Boot @ Riverbend Park

Give Cancer the Boot, a dog walk, trail ride and 5K run/walk, will be held Aug. 4 at Riverbend Park, 16618 Township Road 208.

The dog walk begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the horse trail ride at noon. A “Hot Pink Night Glow” 5K is set for 8:15 p.m. Packet pick-up is available throughout the day beginning at 9 a.m.

The cost for registration through Wednesday is $25 per event, which includes a T-shirt. Participants may choose one, two or all three events. Registration is available at https://runsignup.com/race/oh/findlay.

The event benefits the Denise Tebbe Memorial Scholarship Fund, which goes to deserving 4-H youth. Tebbe was a 4-H advisor for Hancock County horse and dog clubs and was a teacher for over 30 years. Scholarships have been awarded in her honor since her death in 2014. Donations toward the fund will be accepted.

Christian Clearing House Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser @ First Presbyterian Church

Christian Clearing House (CCH) will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, 2330 S. Main St.

The Olive Garden will prepare a spaghetti dinner with salad and breadsticks. Homemade desserts and beverages will also be included, provided by Christian Clearing House. The adult price is $9 and the cost per child is $5. Dine-in or carryout will be available, with a separate carryout line.

Proceeds will benefit services for low-income individuals in Hancock County.

Tiffin Moose Lodge Benefit Bingo and Raffle @ Tiffin Moose Lodge

The Allen Eiry Center will hold a benefit bingo and raffle event at the Tiffin Moose Lodge, 1146 Ohio 53 N, on Sept. 8.

Doors will open at 9 a.m., with early bird games beginning at noon. High payouts will be made for each game, with a chance to win the jackpot coverall game of $3,200.

Bingo packages are $40, $45 or $50 if purchased prior to Aug. 31. The price for each package increases by $10 after that date. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Every player will receive a door prize and a free buffet breakfast served from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Put-a-Cork in Cancer @ Gillig Winery

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s Put-a-Cork in Cancer fundraiser will take place from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Gillig Winery, 1720 Northridge Road.

Attendees will hear firsthand how the network allows ACS’s volunteers to make a difference in the fight against cancer while enjoying an evening of wine, music, auction times and snacks. Tickets are $26, available at https://www.acscan.org/events/put-cork-cancer-findlay-oh .

Christian Clearing House Chip In For Charity @ Sycamore Springs Golf Club

Christian Clearing House will hold a “Chip in for Charity” golf scramble, including a four-person best ball scramble, Sept. 14 at Sycamore Springs Golf Club, Arlington.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9.

The cost is $80 per person/$320 per team, which includes green fees, cart, continental breakfast, lunch and door prizes. All proceeds will benefit Christian Clearing House in its mission to help Hancock County residents in emergency situations.

TnT Toy Run @ Reineke Ford Lincoln

The 34th annual TnT Toy Run to benefit Toys for Tots, A.B.A.T.E. of Ohio and other area children’s Christmas charities will begin at noon Saturday at Reineke Ford Lincoln, 12000 County Road 99.

Cost to participate is $10 or $5 and a new toy.

A party will follow the poker run at Findlay Eagles Club 2118, 4023 County Road 220. The club will also be open before the ride begins.
