National Dachshund Races and Circuit Finals @ Riverside Park
Sep 30 @ 8:30 am

The National Dachshund Races and Circuit finals return to Findlay with a full day of events and races Saturday, Sept. 30, at Riverside Park, 231 McManness Ave. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Audiences can watch, laugh and cheer during the races and there will be opportunity to donate to several charities.

The morning will begin with costume contests, which are open not only to dachshunds, but to any small breed that is less than 15 inches tall.

The costume contests are: best dressed male or female or group, look-a-like and most original.
The most popular morning event, Best Nose, is also open to all small breed dogs.

The dachshund racing is the main event and features several categories: puppy, adult, senior, a cart race for handicapped doxies on wheels, a mixed dachshund race, and a race for any small breed.

Some races benefit charities. Money raised from these races will go to support The PKD Foundation, Hancock County K-9 unit vet care, Sophia Grace Foundation (dachshund rescue) and Military Veterans Resource Center.

This year’s event will have racing champions from this year coming from Georgia and Florida. They will compete against the newly determined Findlay champ to become the 2017 National Dachshund Races Circuit Champion.

All forms needed for registering, sponsoring or being a vendor are located online. Registering online is encouraged, as there are several early-bird promotions taking place online. Mail-in registration is also found online. Registration is $8.50 if postmarked by Sept. 25. Registration increases to $9.50 at the event.
