The Sunday evening performance begins at 5 p.m.; all other performances begin at 8 p.m., with the house opening 30 minutes before the performance. The show follows Robert (Wes Vollmar), a New York City bachelor who struggles to think of a wish as he blows out the candles on his 35th birthday. Surrounded by his married friends, Robert is uncertain whether he should simply be happy with his life or whether he should wish for his own romantic partner. Over a series of dinner parties, first dates, and thoughtful conversations, Robert attempts to understand the pros and cons of marriage from his diverse and frequently hilarious friends. The production will feature a live orchestra with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, one of musical theater’s most renowned composers. The play took home seven Tony Awards, including best musical, best score, best lyrics and best book (by George Furth). A cast of Fort Findlay Playhouse veterans and newcomers portray Robert’s friends. His married friends are Sarah (Andrea Adams-Miller) and Harry (Patrick Davis); Susan (Kim Marquart) and Peter (David Marquart); Jenny (Sarah Elizabeth Olesky) and David (Matt Johnson); and Joanne (Jean Daniel) and Larry (Jeff Lee). The engaged couple is Amy (Samantha Henry) and Paul (Justin DuVall); and Robert’s various girlfriends are April (Megan Meyer), Marta (Maggie Rucki), and Kathy (Dora Vollmar). The members of the chorus are Brad Bickhart, Sheryl Burtch, Linda England, Jordan Gottschalk, Lydia Mattingly, and Justin McKenzien. The show is directed by Casey Wurm with music direction by Aeryn Williams and choreography by Kristina Pritchard. It was produced by Kim Marquart.
