Mornings with Mommy will begin Sept. 18 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera, and continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. the first and third Mondays and Tuesdays. The educational playdates are open to infants through preschool-age children and their moms, dads, grandparents and nannies. Each session will have its own theme and will include devotion, language and literacy activities, arts and crafts, sensory activities and more. Registration is required at tlcjenera.org or by calling 419-326-4685. The cost is $5 per family (not per child), per session.

The Allen County and Hardin County OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will partner to host a Master Gardener Volunteer training course for new Master Gardener Volunteers this spring. The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local Ohio State University Extension county office. Volunteers are not required to have gardening skills or knowledge; but a passion for learning about gardening and sharing this knowledge with others is a must. Classes will be held on the OSU Lima Campus beginning with orientation on Tuesday, March 6 and classes being held each Tuesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. beginning March 13 and continuing through April 26. Chuck Weiker will be the featured speaker for the next meeting of the Hancock County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lindamood Room of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. He will give a DVD presentation from the opening of the Banneker National Historic Park. Weiker’s research has led to the realization that he is descended from the subject of the park, Benjamin Banneker.

Chrissy Lugibihl, manager of the Et Cetera Shop in Bluffton, will present the “3 R’s of Fashion,” ways to recycle, repurpose and revive clothing and textiles, at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. This is the April meeting for Transition Bluffton. There is no charge to attend.

A 12-session “24/7 Dad” fatherhood program will be offered at First Step, 1099 Columbus Ave., Fostoria. Classes start April 17 and will be held from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Both morning and evening classes are available, with child care provided. The program through the National Fatherhood Initiative is designed to nurture self-awareness, compassion and a sense of responsibility.
