The Fostoria Community Arts Council will present a free children’s holiday art workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at its office, 125 S. Main St., Fostoria. Mount Cory United Methodist Church will host its annual “Heaven Came Down,” a display of angels and nativities at the Bethel Family Life Center, 201 W. Washington St., Mount Cory, this month. The display will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Dec. 9 and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 10. Christmas for Kids will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Trinity School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, beginning with a free lunch. This program will provide children in preschool through fourth grade a special opportunity to hear the real message of Christmas, along with crafts, refreshments and music. The City of Findlay Recreation Department will host “Skate with Santa” from 1-2:50 p.m. Saturday at the Huntington Bank Arena at The Cube, 3430 N. Main St. Attendees can skate to Christmas music, make a craft, decorate a cookie and get their picture taken with Santa. Admission is $5 and skate rental is $3. The 17th annual Voices in Perfection (VIP)/Findlay First Edition (FFE) Spaghetti Dinner and Holiday Show fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9, at Findlay High School. VIP and FFE will give two performances in the R.L. Heminger Auditorium, with a matinee at 4 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. The spaghetti dinner, catered by Olive Garden, will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets for dinner and one performance are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. Performance-only tickets are $9. Advance tickets may be purchased from a VIP or FFE member, Trends on Main, or at the door prior to the performance. A limited number of tickets for the spaghetti dinner will be available at the door. First Edition, the Findlay High School award-winning show choir, will perform four of the group’s competition numbers: “Back to Then,” “I Hear a Song,” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow,” and “Lost with Time.” FFE will also perform holiday selections, including: “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Carol of the Bells,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Man with a Bag” and “The Light Come Down.” VIP is the FHS freshman show choir, and will perform the following selections: “At Christmas,” “Holly Jolly Christmas,” “When Love Came Down,” “Santa Claus Boogie,” and “Rockin’ Down the Chimney Tonight.” The groups will share the stage with Fusion, the Donnell Middle School Show Choir, for the 4 p.m. performance; and Northern Lights, the Glenwood Middle School Show Choir, for the evening performance. FFE and VIP will join together to close the performance on two selections, “Sleigh Ride” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” For additional information, contact the FHS Vocal Music Office at 419-425-8282.

The Hancock Park District invites the community to step back in time and join the McKinnis family as they gather for the holiday season at the McKinnis House in Litzenberg Memorial Woods on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. Holiday cakes will be made in the kitchen for the family and guests to enjoy. The family will gather in the sitting room for a sing-along and conversation, including a discussion about new traditions that have been brought to the settlement. In the bedchamber, the kids will play games and discuss a Christmas tree. All ages are welcome to attend the free program, and registration is not required. Litzenberg Memorial Woods is located at 6100 U.S. 224, west of Findlay.
