New Skills for Frazzled Parents @ Findlay-Hancock County Public Library

Parents who feel overwhelmed, overworked or frustrated can meet others having a tough time and get help at an upcoming Century Health event.

Nancy Stephani, LISW-S, will present a video titled “New Skills for Frazzled Parents,” and encourage discussion on a variety of parenting trials. All caregivers of children are welcome.
No registration is required and the program is free.

Age-appropriate activities for children will be offered during the screening of the film.

The program takes place from 6:30-8 p.m. June 8 at the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library.

Watercolor Painting Class @ Putnam County District Library

Jeanne Beutler will lead a watercolor painting class from 6-8 p.m. June 12 at the Putnam County District Library, Ottawa.

The 8-inch-by-10-inch beginner level painting features bumblebees and hollyhocks. All supplies are included in the $10 fee. To register, call 419-523-3747 by June 5.

University of Findlay Forensic Science Summer Camp @ The University of Findlay
Jun 25 – Jun 29 all-day

High school sophomores, juniors and seniors can register for the University of Findlay’s Forensic Science Summer Camp, to be held in June.
Students will use biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and deductive reasoning during hands-on activities in a university lab and at mock crime scenes on campus. They will attempt to solve a series of unsolved crimes, examining evidence left at the crime scenes.
The camp will be held Sunday, June 25 through Thursday, June 29 and students will stay on campus during that time. The cost is $425.

National Archery in the Schools Program Training @ Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife District Two office

Teachers and other members of school communities who are interested in becoming certified National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) instructors can attend a free training workshop Saturday, July 8 in Findlay.

The Basic Archery Instructor Training will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife District Two office at 952 Lima Ave.

Instructors teach target archery to elementary, middle and high school students. The curriculum covers archery, safety, equipment, technique, concentration skills and self-improvement.

Preregistration is required by July 6, and those interested should visit naspbai.org to sign up for the course. Participants are encouraged to bring a packed lunch.
