Six Verizon stores targeted by thieves

A rash of break-ins at Verizon stores in the region is being reported.
In Findlay, a break-in at Radio Hospital/Verizon Wireless, 2011 Tiffin Ave., was reported Friday.
Twenty-five iPhones with a total value of $12,032 were taken, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports.
On Sunday, break-ins were reported at Verizon stores in Celina, Wapakoneta, Sidney and Troy. A Verizon store also was hit in Van Wert.
The Lima News reports that Celina police are investigating a break-in at RG Sound & Communication, 1701 Industrial Drive, that occurred between 5 and 5:30 a.m. Sunday. The burglars smashed the front door to gain entry.
Police said a security camera showed there were four burglars, three men who entered the building and another driving a four-door, maroon-colored Buick Park Avenue, the Lima News said. They stole a variety of items.
At Wapakoneta, a break-in occurred shortly before 6 a.m. at RG Sound & Communication, 1321 Bellefontaine St. Video showed three men in dark clothing entered and exited the store in less than a minute, the Lima News reported.
The men smashed the glass of the front door and stole more than $11,000 worth of merchandise, primarily cellphones and tablets.
Before the break-ins at Celina and Wapakoneta, a Verizon store in Van Wert was hit. The same person owns and operates the stores in Celina, Wapakoneta and Van Wert, the Lima News said.
A break-in at a Verizon store in Sidney occurred at 6:18 a.m. Sunday when three men broke the front-door glass. Police said only a laptop computer was taken.
At Troy, a Verizon store at 775 W. Market St. was broken into before 8 a.m. Sunday. Officers found the front-door glass broken, the Lima News said.
