Kristen Johnson to run for juvenile court judge



Kristen K. Johnson has filed petitions to run in the Republican primary election for Hancock County Juvenile and Probate Court judge.
Johnson has served as a magistrate for the court since 2010.
Judge Allan Davis, who was first elected in 1974, will not be eligible to run again due to state age limitations for judges.
Prior to 2010, Johnson worked as an assistant Hancock County prosecutor. She began in the civil division of the office in 1993, representing and advising county officials and township trustees. She then moved to the criminal division, where she prosecuted adult felony cases for seven years.
She then moved to the juvenile division.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y., and her law degree from the University of Toledo.
