A second person was indicted Thursday in last month’s shooting of a Findlay man inside a city home.
Derick R. Curry Jr., 25, address unknown, was charged by a Hancock County grand jury with aggravated robbery and felonious assault for allegedly harming Christopher A. Ingleston with a .40-caliber handgun while committing theft.
The charges are first- and second-degree felonies, respectively.
Curry and co-defendant Tyrel L. Jones, 22, of Findlay, face identical charges after Ingleston, 19, was shot in the torso at about 1 a.m. Dec. 19 at 222 Prospect Ave., according to police. Ingleston was taken to a Toledo hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound.
Police have said Jones believed another resident of the rental property possessed money and drugs.
Separately, a Findlay man was indicted for allegedly assaulting a Hancock County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
John P. Cheney Jr., 26, faces a fourth-degree felony charge for allegedly harming Deputy Michael DeVore on Jan. 1 in Union Township.
The grand jury handed up indictments against four others on Thursday:
• Amanda L. Lynch, 32, of Louisville, Ky., was charged with a fifth-degree felony count of identity fraud. On Dec. 21 in Findlay, Lynch allegedly used another woman’s driver’s license without her consent.
• David D. Luth, 46, of Findlay, was charged with domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. Luth allegedly harmed a relative on Dec. 27 in Findlay. He was previously convicted of domestic violence in Findlay Municipal Court in 1999, according to the indictment.
• Sara M. Day, 20, of Van Wert, was charged with a fifth-degree felony count of heroin possession. On July 17 in Eagle Township, Day allegedly possessed less than 1 gram of the drug.
• Christopher Swartz, 29, of Findlay, was charged with receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. On Aug. 9 in Findlay, Swartz allegedly had a stolen Millstream Area Credit Unit debit card owned by a Bloomdale man.
