Weekend: ‘Broadway Bound’

The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will perform “Broadway Bound” in its annual pops concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary TLB auditorium.
UF students, faculty and staff and community members are welcome at no cost, however, tickets to reserve seating are required. To reserve seating, contact the UF box office at 419-434-4458.
Under the direction of Jack Taylor, professor of music, the bands will feature music of the Broadway stage including “Opening Night On Broadway,” Irving Berlin’s “Songs for America,” “The Golden Age of Broadway,” “Broadway Showstoppers” and more.
Featured soloist for the concert will be Lori Bitz, brass instructor at the university and an active professional soloist and performer in the Midwest.
There will be a ceremony at intermission as the senior members of the bands honor selected faculty/staff members from the university.
